The Icelandic man who underwent the first shoulder and arm transplantation in the world 16 months ago, recovered in an amazing manner, until he was able to exercise in the club, and carry his grandchildren in his arms.
According to the British newspaper, “Daily Mail”, Felix Gritarsson, 49, had his arms amputated in 1998 after a strong electric current while he was at work in Iceland.
After spending years without arms, the man managed to convince a surgeon in France to perform a complex operation to transplant two shoulders and arms, in a 15-hour medical intervention.
